What is UGC NET ?
UGC NET is the short form of University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test.
This exam is conducted national level for selection of candidates for Assistant Professor or both JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges.
Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) conducted UGC NET exam on behalf of UGC till 2018 June.But From December,2018 NTA(National Testing Agency) started conducting this exam.
National Testing Agency(NTA) is a government organization established in November 2017 to conduct important educational entrance examination like National Eligibility Test (NET),Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE Main), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG),Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).
-At least 55 per cent aggregate marks in post-graduation is required for UGC NET exam.
-Candidate’s age should be less than 30 for eligible for JRF.
-There are no age limit for Assistant Professor.
-Reserved category candidates are given relaxation of five per cent in educational qualification and five years in age criteria.

Paper- 2 No.
Paper-1 : General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude (1 hour)
Paper-2 : Subject you applied for (2 hour)
Total number of subject for UGC NET is 81 and offered twice a year.
